Ross School mothers B.J. Martin and Dianne Fruin founded the “Beyond the Garden Gate” tour in 1997. As involved parents and volunteers in the public K-8 Ross School, they were concerned about the school’s dwindling Fine Arts program, saw the potential for much-needed fundraising in the many gorgeous private gardens in the Town of Ross, and enlisted the support of the community to help bridge the gap in school funding.

After that first tour the hallways of Ross School were again filled with the sounds of blossoming musicians and the works of budding artists. Today “Beyond the Garden Gate” continues as a successful fundraiser and memorable community event. Each year around 700 people attend the tour. Ross School thanks the homeowners, volunteers, guests, and sponsors who make this event a success year after year. “Beyond the Garden Gate” is now a biannual tour, and we look forward to seeing you again in 2016.
